Making Memories with the HP Sprocket - My Review

Remember Polaroid? Well, it's back, sort of, but better than ever! HP has recently introduced the next must-have tech accessory, the HP Sprocket Photo Printer and I've taken it for a test run to see if it's worth the hype.

The HP Sprocket is perfect to be popped in a handbag or back pocket.  You can personalise and print their favourite pics straight from your phone via the HP Sprocket App. The App features hundreds of filters, stickers, frames and even text, so you will able to edit the pics in the App and instantly print and share memories on the go.

Remember my review of the HP DeskJet All-in-One Printer? Well, this is next level.  My first thoughts were how compact it is but also how together it is too. No annoying buttons, just smooth sleek curves. It looked flash and felt sturdy. I also liked that it was rechargeable through a Micro USB (Nice and easy!)

I used mine at a pre-ball I was hosting and it went down a treat. Using text we were able to date it and name it so we could look back years on. It also meant each person had something they could take home with them.

One key feature about the HP Sprocket is that it requires no costly ink refills – the ink is basically contained in the HP ZINC photo paper, which is processed and turned into beautiful prints right there and then. You should note that the Photo paper costs $19:99 for a 20 pack so $1 a photo and I think that is pretty good considering, unlike the Polaroid you are able to edit the photo first before you press print!

The price point on the HP Sprocket is fantastic too. It’s sleek and stylish and is available from Harvey Norman, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming at only $249. It seems a little on the pricey side, however, I think it's worth it, especially when you don't need to replace the ink!

Overall: Is it a must have for the Modern Girl? Yes, I love mine!  But I also love what I can do with those printed photos. I have been using them to create birthday postcards, love letters for my man, and keepsakes for my mum. I have seen suggestions of people using their HP Sprocket for a wedding scrapbook and one clever cookie made DIY Photo recipe cards!

I really liked the size, it is ultra portable making it ideal for the party. I also liked the fact it was really easy to print my fave images without having to get out the printer or connecting to a printer - my fridge photos would always be up to date. The app was another awesome feature, just try not to spend the whole night on it!
