Let's talk about Gym Supplements and What I'm Loving

I used to think gym supplements where tabu and hated the idea of chemicals to help blood flow and give us energy but as I've got new gym goals I've started exploring the world of supplements and I wanted to share what I take currently and why. 1. Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy

Although not an official pre-workout this is my pre workout so to speak. I take medication daily for anxiety, and I'm not keen on the idea of a pre-workout just yet, and I'm not sure I need it (Although ON do have a new Pre-workout out I'm keen to try). Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy is my treat. It tastes amazing and gives me all the energy I need. I don't drink coffee so I use  Optimum Nutrition Amino Energy as it provides caffeine from green coffee and green tea extracts.  I tried some similar products, but it was my coach Sheena and her Watermelon Amino Energy obsession that got me started. Now I am hooked.

2. Nice & Natural Protein Nut Bars.

So I finally got around to enjoying Quest bars - it took a while, but I got there because with my goals it's the best choice to get that protein in. Then Nice & Natural came out with some Protein Nut Bars, and I was sold. 25% protein with less than 2grams Of sugar in my fave the Salted Caramel flavour - plus it was made out of super seeds so my body was getting goodness and fibre all in one hit. They are a hell of a lot cheaper too so thank you Nice & Natural.

3. Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Powder

I'm super bad at getting that protein in which is annoying as muscle growth and retention relies on this. I've tried a few flavours now and brands, but I'm sticking with this, the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Protein Power. I take a shake post workout and when my plan tells me to, and it's a breeze. I'm currently enjoying Vanilla. However next up on my list is White Chocolate. Sheena swears by it.

4. Swisse Women's Multi-Vitamin

I take this with my lunch daily. Why? Because it has it all and although I get a good amount of veggies and goodness in my nutrition taking this guy isn't going to hurt at all. My stomach can be sensitive, and I've tried a few brands but Swisse I'm sticking with for now.

5. Health Labs Protein Balls

Sometimes a girl needs chocolate, or energy or just something.  Especially at that time of the month. I keep Health Labs Protein Balls on hand for times like those. I hated bliss balls because they were, in reality, anything but blissful. It was not until I got some given to me at a Nike event that I started to change my tune.  Thes protein balls taste great, are high in protein, they assist in fat burning. They are a little high in carbs and natural sugars so I am careful of that.

So here's my list so far. Yeah, I sometimes take more like fat burners, sometimes, and magnesium but I wanted to share some of my faves with you for now.

I'm in the cool stage where this gym world is all new to me, and it's fun trying new brands and learning.
