With Summer coming, Its time to switch up the foundations and up the SPF.  MAC has recently dropped a new foundation and naturally I wanted to try it. M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation has been described as  "an innovative foundation that delivers colour in an ultra-fluid, elegantly thin, elastic gel serum formula. With stay-true colour and sheer medium buildable coverage, it softly blurs imperfections such as pores and fine lines. The addition of Moisture-Fusion Complex provides immediate and all-day hydration, leaving skin feeling quenched and soft, supple, silky to the touch" After a week of playing here are my thoughts:

  • The product is what is says it is. It was very lightweight on my skin and felt silky to touch
  • Buildable coverage at its best - I expected this foundation to be water thin but I was wrong, it is super build able without looking like I have loads of foundation on. It covered any spots with ease and worked well with my concealer.
  • Packaging is great - I was very skeptical about the dripper system but it worked nicely with the consistency of the product and released the product nicely.

Gordon Espinet, the Senior Vice President of Global Artist Training, Development and Makeup Artistry, M∙A∙C Cosmetics recommends pairing with Studio Waterweight Foundation with Pro Longwear Concealer or Studio Finish Concealer Palette, for perfecting after a sheer application to an extended wear time. To refresh skin after several hours of wear, use Mineralize Charged Water or Prep + Prime Fix+.

Overall it was in fact better than expected. This guy will be coming with me next year when I go to Miami, as I know it can handle the heat and will be perfect for that, I'm not wearing any make-up look when I hit the beach.

M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation is available now and has a suggested New Zealand retail price of $72.00
