I Try a Dermalogica ProSkin30 Facial at Skintopia

When I got the invite to try a Dermalogica ProSkin30 Facial at Skintopia, I was ecstatic. Skintopia recently opened in Auckland’s Commercial Bay - a ten-minute walk from my apartment.

Skintopia is all about results. Started by a key distributor for Dermalogica New Zealand, Skintopia has two locations, in Wellington and now Auckland. They are about results, and this was clear from the get-go.

I was booked in for a Proskin 30, A bespoke treatment targeting key concerns for maximum impact, in minimal time. At $80 it was great value. After examining my skin and tasking some questions about routine, etc., Jemma determined what would be best for me.

What was best for me was a double cleanse, followed by an in-depth treatment with microcurrent specific iontophoresis and dermal layering. Microcurrent specific iontophoresis is said to allow for superior penetration of serums into the skin, the result is that skin is hydrated, circulation is improved, and skin appears glowing and revitalized. I was Glowing! Dermal layering was then used to hydrate and seal and protect the skin to complete the treatment.

The bed/chair, whatever you call it was amazing, and surprisingly I didn’t hear much or any of the conversation happening next to me. The mall was faint, but I was trying hard to listen for it too. Results are what I am here for, however, and I must say my skin was glowing, and it felt so much happier. Post-treatment, we then talked about recommended treatment plans as well as going through my routine. Jemma was a champion as I asked her 110 questions about products.

At Skintopia, the decor is clean and fresh. The green was beautiful, and it stood out from the beauty places around them with pink and peach hues. My primary concern was that it was within a mall - would I still feel like I was in a mall? And would I feel embarrassed leaving the mall with that post-treatment face? This is where I expected Skintopia to fall down for me, but it surprised me. I quickly forgot I was in a mall, and it stayed that way for the whole treatment. Leaving also wasn’t a concern my skin was GLOWING.

I left with a smile on my face and happy skin. This was a gifted treatment, and with that, it is very easy to fall in love, so I must consider all factors. All factors considered I loved it, I really did. I do believe, that as well as results, that you should stick to a plan, so somewhere local, and works for you long term is an essential factor when picking a salon or therapist.

Some items I took home based of recommendations from Jemma.

I will be back for a facial, but also a lash lift, yes they do those too! I personally struggle so much to lie for the course of a lash lift on those flatbeds, so the idea of a Lash Lift in their bed chairs is a big yes! It is close to my apartment, and currently, price is a factor for me (I’m getting personal here), and I felt these treatments were great value for money.

If you’re looking for some skin loving Skintopia could be worth a try.
